*Martin Luther 1953 Dir. Irving Pichel, With Niall MacGinnis-probably better than the 1993 version with Stacey Keach as Luther, but which was produced by the American Lutheran church and makes Luther a complete hero.
*Luther 1973 Dir. Guy Green. With Stacey Keach-based on John Osborne's play of the same name, which was a theatrical version of Erik Erikson's effort at psychohistory, Young Man Luther.

*The Last Valley 1991, 125 minsDir. James Clavell, With Michael Cain, Omar SharifSet in 1641, the twenty-third year of the Thirty Years' War.
